St. George Vacation??

Grandad left to go to St. George with his sister, Joyleen, last Monday. It didn't turn out to be much of a vacation for him. He began not feeling well on the way down. He felt weak and lightheaded when they stopped for a break on their trip. They continued on and he did better that evening. However, the next day he didn't do well again and he sent the readings in from his heart monitor. He was told to call 911 and get to the hospital immediately. Joyleen and Max got him into the car and took him to the nearest hospital. His heart rate was 28 and his blood pressure high. He ended up in ICU for 3 days before being allowed to travel back to Salt Lake City where we are now.

He will go into University Hospital here in Salt Lake tomorrow morning at 5:45 a.m. to have a pacemaker "installed". Hopefully, this will get his heart regulated and he will be able to make the next trip to St. George a golfing vacation.

An exciting afternoon spent group shopping at Lowe's. A male's delight!!

Last evening we went to the Draper Temple open house. Of course, Grandad wasn't able to join us as planned and Niccole, Chris and boys stayed at home because of illness. Mike Jr., Christina and kids were unable to be with us either since Christina's grandpa passed away this week and they had had a very full week. We had a great evening at the temple with the rest of the family (except April, Bart and family since they live so far away) as we toured and learned about the Draper Temple. Afterwards we went out for dinner and celebrated Matt's birthday, which is today. What a fun weekend! The only way it could have been better was to have everyone well and there to join us!
