Great Times!

Caitlin Graduates!

Caitlin graduated from preschool last week! It was so fun to go to the ceremonies, watch and hear her sing with her classmates and receive her "diploma".


She was so cute in her graduation cap and "gown". Her teacher had made each of the students a scrapbook in a three ring binder. Her picture was on each page depicting the a-b-c's. What a cute idea and a lot of work! Great keepsake! Now it is on to kindergarten!!

Carter also attended Cait's graduation. Caught the light just right so he looks like he has donned on his graduation cap, too! What a cute kid!


A Great Memorial Day Weekend
May 22nd - May 25th

We packed up "Mondo, the Condo" and headed for Island Park for the holiday weekend. We were to go with Lorna, Richard and the girls. But Lorna wasn't feeling well on Friday so she stayed at home with the plan to come up when she was feeling better. (As it ended up, she went to the doctor and ended up in bed with a kidney infection all weekend). So Mike and I, Grandad, Richard, Carissa and Mya along with "Mondo" and "Alice, the Palace", took off for the "hills".

What a beautiful time of year to be in Island Park! Everything was so green and the weather was absolutely great for this early in the season. We spent Saturday in West Yellowstone doing some shopping and we had lunch (buffalo burgers). As we were leaving Island Park toward West, a big black bear went across the road in front of us. By the time I got my camera out he had taken off through the woods. I would loved to have had a picture! Grandad said that he hadn't seen a black bear in the area since Mike was a toddler. (That is a VERY long time!! Tee-hee).

A usual outing while in Island Park is to go to Big Springs and watch the "Big" fish. We made it over there twice. The fish seemed even bigger this year. It is always fun to feed them and watch them jump for the food. I got some good video. We also saw seagulls feed off the bread and bird food as well as a muskrat.

Another place we like to visit is Mesa Falls. It is quite a walk with lots of stairs so Grandad could only make it part of the way. I love to see the falls as it makes its way to the river. Something like 350,000 gallons of water per minute. We are so blessed to have a beautiful and diversified world!!

A trip up there wouldn't be right unless we went to Grandad's favorite spot. We drove down to Warm River and spent some time there. It was always Grandad's favorite "fishing hole". He stood out on the bank and there I got it all on video .... Grandad declaring, "This is where I want to be buried, right here in a Kotex box".

It was such a fun weekend! We played games and ate great food! Thanks, Lorna, for all the work you did helping prepare meals. Sorry you couldn't be there to enjoy it with us. We really missed you! Get to feeling better so that we can be on our way to Nauvoo at the end of June!
